Here's a conversation a believer and an atheist might plausibly have:
Believer: The physical constants in the universe are fine-tuned for life, which shows that there must be a creator.
Atheist: Maybe there are lots of universes; and so a few happen to have conditions right for life; obviously we inhabit one of those.
Believer: You've no evidence for multiple universes!
Atheist: Well, you've no evidence for God!
This looks like some sort of draw. But the atheist can do better. The believer is not correct when he states that there's no evidence for many universes. One massive piece of evidence is the fact that this universe exists. We know that there's one universe, so why not more?
The existence of our universe is proof that universes can exist. So there could easily be several. By contrast, we have no proof that gods can exist.
