A dilemma for Creationists

If the world is young, isn't it odd that you never get fossils out of place? You never get fossilised dinosaurs in the same rock strata as fossilised modern mammals, for example. Why's that?

If the world is old (i.e. if you think geologists, paleontologists, and cosmologists actually have a clue), isn't it odd that God always created transitional forms before he created full-fledged members of a new type of animal; i.e. creating archaeopteryx[1] before modern birds, ambulocetus[2] before modern whales, mammal-like reptiles before mammals, and so on?

Either way, God seems to be doing his best to mislead us into thinking evolution is true.

Notes

[1] You might have heard that archaeopteryx is in fact a modern bird; this is simply a lie. It has a great many features that are more like dinosaurs than modern birds.

[2] Oh, and, you know, Dalanistes, Rodhocetus, Basilosaurus, Dorudon, et cetera et cetera.
